Comp Eliminator top qualifier, David Beckley of Wildomar, Calif., kept his momentum going right into the winner's circle. He drove his '63 Corvette to the win over Tom Mettler, Bakersfield, Calif. Beckley made a 6.839-second, 203.37 mph pass in the final and that was more than enough to cover Mettler's 7.585-second, 178-45 mph effort.

In Super Stock, Woodland Hills, Calif., resident Bill Chaffin took the win in his '87 Buick. In the final round he faced off against reigning Northwest division champion Jody Lang of Puyallup, Wash., in his '81 Malibu. Chaffin ran 10.377 seconds at 124.69 mph in the final against Lang's 11.196 seconds at 118.37 mph. Peoria, Ariz., Stock Eliminator racer Tibor Kadar wheeled his '77 Firebird to the winner's circle against veteran racer Clark Holroyd of Chino. Kadar's 12.338-second run at 97.17 mph was enough to earn in the win. Alexis DeJoria, Venice, Calif., scored the Super Comp win over Neil Schindler of San Diego, Calif. Super Gas racer Wayne Newman, Lancaster, Calif., scored the win in his '94 Chevy Z-34 over Bob Harris of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., in a double-breakout final. Northridge, Calif., resident Mike Lang drove to the win in Super Street in his '72 Vega against the '79 Mustang wheeled by Bill North of Tempe, Ariz. Justin Lamb, Henderson, Nev., got the Top Comp win over Jonathan Fiello of Yucaipa, Calif. In Super Eliminator, Mike Solina, Poway, Calif., earned the trophy over Acton, Calif., racer Andy Spiegel.

Specials awards presented at this weekend's event included the Be Cool Radiators Coolest Car of the Class. Taking home the prizes were Joe Mozeris in Comp Eliminator; John Borden in Super Stock; Steve Wann in Stock Eliminator; Schindler in Super Comp; Gary Cooke in Super Gas; Charlie Allen in Super Street; Del Cox Jr. in Top Comp; and Solina in Super Eliminator. The award for Best Appearing Car went to Super Stocker Jeff Lee, Top Comp competitor Paul Gladden and his team won Best Appearing Crew, and Candy Mesa's Super Stocker took away the Best Engineered Car award.
